Its been on my heart for some time, God calls us to be uncomfortable but each day we go home to our warm homes, refrigerator full of food, comfortable beds, and a bathroom right down the hall. I just finished the book and I also have recently finished another book "The Irresitable Revolution" and they both look at this view of comfortable America. How can we have faith that God will provide when we already have it all? What Mike and Sam did is not for all of us, but if God did call us would we be willing? I just feel like we have lost true faith and along with that true love. Love for this broken and dying world we live in. For those of us in school, we may not like it but we are so lucky. To open that refrigerator and find food is a blessing, even the refrigerator itself is a blessing. Why can't we share in our riches. The old church used to live in a way that whats mine is yours. Everyone shared all of there belongings and talents. Why do we have to distence ourselves from people that are less fortunate? My favorite quote from "The Irresitable Revolution": "the best thing to do with the best things in life is to give them away." Why can't we give a simple smile away to the homeless so they can experience our joy? Lets stop living our comfortable American lives and live the radical life that Jesus has called us to. Jesus didn't spend his time with the happy churchgoers, he spent it with the dying, sick, homeless, prositutes, and taxcollectors. Lets live like Jesus!

much love
