In 1993-94 I was in my junior year of high school. Three weeks before the end of it, I had a disagreement with my stepmother, which landed me out of the house. I had no place to go, no place to stay, other than a run down apartment building in the streets of Kansas City. I stayed there with someone I was introduced to by another friend. I roamed the streets for most days and nights, not always having a place to stay. I slept in cars, under decks of people's houses when it would rain. I was a drug addict also going through the era of crack cocaine, along with other street drugs and inhalants. I had no talents and was too ignorant to beg. I became a theif to support my life and habits. I remember picking cigarette butts off the ground after other people. I remember at one person's house we ate stolen school pizzas that were taken from a rail car. The pizzas were cooked directly on the grating of the stove, where they were pryed off, and the remnants left for the next time we ate. I too remember sharing experiences with cockroaches. I shared the streets with other addicts and prostitutes. I spent many nights in jail because of my lifestyle. I went back to school but continued in my addictions. I cant cover my entire testimony here, but I am now thirty years old, drug and alcohol free, I was saved on October 25th 2000, three days before my wedding and rededicted my life back to the Lord completely on April 9th of 2005 by way of baptism. I am married and I have a wonderful wife, a four year old son and a baby on the way. I am currently attending college at Liberty University working toward a degree in Christian Psychology. The reason I use the nickname brokentogether is because I truly was ripped apart and through the blood of Christ, was put back together. Thank you and I will respond to questions to clarify or dwell deeper into my testimony if you are interested.
