I really dug the book and have already lent my copy to a friend of mine. I plan on making it a part of our curriculum at the school I run called East Coast School of Urban Ministry (www.ecsum.org) in the New York City Metro area. The school is part of New York City Relief (www.nycr.org), an organization that has been helping the homeless in New York City for over 16 years.

I loved the book because it provided a voice for the voiceless. It gave the body of Christ a look at the unseen world of the homeless. I pastor a church called CityTribe Church (www.citytribechurch.org) that is mainly made up of homeless people, addicts, prostitutes and the poor. Getting to know people from the streets and hearing their stories has been fascinating. Many of my friends now are people who did life sentences for murder, are battling addiction or live on the streets and serve Jesus the best they can.

My eyes were opened up to a whole new world when I got involved in this kind of work 3 years ago. I started my school to help others experience what I have. We need more ways for people to get involved and to get training. I'm wondering who else is out there doing urban ministry training that I could network work.
