Hola my brothers and sisters in the Lord!

I just got done reading this awesome book and had to come and comment on it and share a little of my story as well.

The book really touched me. A lot. Living in the city I do and doing the work my family does (is that vauge enough??? :D) it was such an encouragement to me. My family works in the downtown area of Colorado Springs and we have worked with the homeless and street people for nearly 5 years. It is an amazing ministry but it is also very hard. But the Lord promised it would be and He is so faithful to lift us up and encourage us when we get down, tired, and just plain old bone weary.

I want to get a copy of this book and pass it along to anyone who will read it. Homeless ministry is incredibly hard and taxing but Jesus is so there. The people you meet are some of the most beautiful, amazing people. They break your heart (in more ways than one) and draw you closer to Our Lord. In doing the work we do, you see the heart of Jesus for the broken people.

One of my favorite verses in Scripture is 1 Cor 1:26-31.

It says "Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. he chose the lowly things of the world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the thigns that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God - that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."

My encouragement to anyone who reads this little note or the book is to earnestly seek the Lord's face. His call is there and it doesn't matter if you are weak, not wise etc... the Lord will use you for His good purpose all to the glory of Jesus!

God Bless you all!
