That's all I can say right now...wow!! God is simply amazing and I am amazed with your book. For a long time now, I've been trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do with my life. I'm currently a nurse but am unhappy in this field. I've been thinking about full time ministry for a while now and have also been tossing around the idea of moving to San Diego (or somewhere along the coast in CA). It seems that lately my heart as been yearning towards outreach ministry...helping the homeless specifically came to mind although I have no idea why. Just a few days ago I was in a christian book store and your book practically jumped off the shelf when I saw the cover. I thought it looked like a cool, contemporary read and when I flipped it over to read the back I saw "San Diego" and "homeless". Impulsively, I bought it and read the whole thing in a matter of a few days. I couldn't put it down and cried like a baby at times! It seems to have really opened my eyes and heart so much so that I'm determined to get involved, possibly pursuing a career in this ministry. Maybe I'm finally beginning to see what my specific purpose is...maybe I'm being overdramatic. God only knows what's in store for me. My heart swells with emotion and my eyes with tears when I think about the need and the experience you've written about. I don't want to be religious, I just want to be real. Helping real people with real problems in a real world. "None of the fake crap." And that's what your book is...REAL. Thank you a million times over. May God bless you tremendously.

Kellie, you are not being overdramatic, it is so sad the our government can't help this people. As Mike and Sam experience these people are gifted and educated, but illness or drug habit has put them there. I am going do do what Mike said in his book not to ignore them, but to help them in anyway that is obtainable. God Bless,...
