After reading the book, I was not going to simply put it away. Sure, physically its on the shelf, but by reading it I became more vividly aware of the very omnipresent darkness of homelessness and drugs. Even if I had not read it, I could not rationally ignore homeless people! I cannot see why humans do that to each other.

Its a time to change then, a time to put time away and open possibilities to serve God, and to help the helpless. We know what needs to be done, but with our selfishness we do not do it. ITS TIME TO CHANGE.

I couldn't agree with you more. I hear stories about people being victimized, while others walk by, or use their cell phones to record the crimes, yet no one steps up to the plate to help. I could not sit idly by! Help your brothers! Time to change indeed. If I change, to be more humble, to serve others, to support, love, and care about the people around me - well its a contagious life. Then someone else will change and so forth. We each need to stand up, and others will follow.
