I have recently been feeling like God has been calling me to volunteer somewhere in my community. I think the whole process began with Mike's book. I have been praying about it and asking Him to tell me where he wants me.

I am a servive technician for a Local Natural Gas Utility company and received a leak call to a local mens rehab facility. So I thought "WOW", this is it. This is where God must want me to be. It just felt right.

I recently heard Mike speak and it sounded to me like his thoughts were the rehab facility has to be Christ Centered. I totally agree. This rehab facility that I was called to is not totally Christ Centered, they focus mostly on AA and NA.

So after hearing Mike and thinking it through a little more, I'm not so sure if this is where I should be.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts.

Thanks!

I think it's a very Christian thing youre doing and it is very inspiring to me. Even though the rehab facility youre working at isn't Christ centered, youre still doing the right thing in my opinion. Bring Christ to the facility and see if you can help any one there spiritually. I can tell that this is God's work and I think you would be heading in the wrong direction if you left.

After reading this book, I felt like I should go to a homeless shelter and help out. The book gave a good overview of what it's like for them and the things they go through. It made me realize how hard it is on the streets and how badly the homeless are treated by others. I felt like I needed to help out in someway by either buying them a meal or sitting down to have a simple conversation. It also showed that Christ isn't in many of their lives and maybe he should be. Someone needs to teach about him, like how you did when you came across many homeless. It may help them change their ways or feel better about themselves.

After our class read this book it really makes you stop and think about helping the less fortunate. I really would like to help out in some way. It makes you think about how some of our problems are so petty, compared to having a place to sleep, staying warm or have a place to eat. We need to help out as much as we can and I hope God can make a way for me to help make a difference in someone's life.
