To make a long story short, I have 2 grown boys who are living on the streets. They are there by choice, they want to be there. They both professed Christ when they were younger, though have turned their backs on it. I just heard about this book "Under the Overpass", and am ordering it so I can read it. The pain is so horrible every day, knowing where my boys are living, and what constant danger they are in, both from themselves and others. I believe they will come back to Christ some day, but am having a hard time trusting until then. I also cannot understand why they would want to be there when they have a loving home & family. Anyway, any insight and your prayers would be appreciated.

Dear KareBear,

Hey ... keep the faith and understand that God is in control of the situation. I serve in a Homeless Ministry and find that many are there because they are their own boss. Maybe they don't come home because they don't want any rules. Just remember the parable of the Prodigle Son. Keep looking for them coming home and keep praying that God will bring them to the end of themselves. Try not to blame yourself either ... Satan uses that to discourage and make you lose hope. If you trained them in the way that they should go ... God will do His part in not letting them depart form it!!!

Blessings, tpatton
