My youth group recently started a book study on your book..and i just have a random question. First of all, I really enjoy (if that's the right word, I can't really think of a better word to describe something that engrosses you, but doesn't necessarily create pleasure) your book. I feel very moved and convicted. But anyway, back to my technical question. Why did the soup kitchens and places need your social security numbers and fingerprints and stuff? I mean, one of the times in San Fransisco, you had to give them all this info, they told you to come back in an hour or two, and then you didn't even get a bed. Why did they need that stuff if you weren't even going to for sure stay there?
